2001 Suzuki GZ 250 Marauder

My back sprocket is tight and still has a little slack. the sprocket and inside of the wheel can move back and forth about 1 inch is this normal?

Not normal at all. There should be no movement at all. The rear axle should be tight in the swingarm. I am wondering if someone left out the wheel bearings.
